Get ready to tame the East Coast’s own River Wild on a trip down the Shenandoah and Potomac this spring! On Saturday, June 7, join your fellow YMs and club members for a day of whitewater rafting ($89) or whitewater tubing ($59) in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia. Both tours depart from the same location in Harper’s Ferry, last four hours, and include a picnic lunch. The bus will leave from outside the NPC no later than 7:15 a.m. and return no later than 4 p.m. To RSVP, call (202) 662-7501 and someone will call you back to get your credit card information. Guatemala’s newly-elected President Alvaro Colom addressed a Newsmakers press conference on April 28th, following a meeting at the White House with President George Bush. President Colom was sworn in on January 14, 2008, after winning nearly 53 percent of the vote as head of the center-left National Union of Hope (UNE) on a platform of combating poverty, crime, and corruption.
